How do I view detailed asset information?

The Asset Details Page

View an asset’s detail page by clicking on its thumbnail or the title under the thumbnail and the page will open. The following features are available:

  1. Select between Simple and Advanced Players (see more on players here: How do I preview an asset?) Note: only Online Assets will have a browse proxy rendition available for preview
  2. Send the asset to your download queue by clicking Add to Downloads
  3. Use the function icons under the player to Edit clip metadata, Add to bin (X), Instant Download, Email this clip and Add to downloads
  4. View all available Asset Information
  5. Click the My Bins drop-down bar to reveal all bin features, including: select a bin, Search bins, Bin tools and View Bins (see more on bins here: Managing Bins)
  6. Click the Copy DAL to Clipboard drop-down bar to reveal the Copy DAL to Clipboard feature (Direct Access Link). Below the COPY TO CLIPBOARD button, highlight and copy the provided URL text and paste it into an email for sharing. This provides restricted ‘preview-only’ access to the asset in a single web page (i.e. no other Core access is granted from this page). Note: The link is active for a set period
  7. Click the Workflow Information drop-down bar to reveal the clip's workflow state and to Edit clip metadata. Workflow States can be set up by your Wazee Digital representative to enable assignable workflow tasks like clip harvesting (i.e. creating multiple sub-clips from a single long-form asset) or adding common metadata attributes across a batch of selected assets in a uniform manner. Note: if you are interested in workflow states, then please contact your Wazee Digital representative via the Helpdesk
  8. Click the Create Subclip drop-down bar to reveal options for creating sub-clips from the asset that you are previewing. Enter in Start time and End time timecodes, Include audio (or not by ticking the option box) and then click Create Subclip
  9. Click on the Syndication drop-down bar to reveal options for asset syndication. Copy the displayed JavaScript to the location to embed the asset preview file provided

Options

The amount of Options that you have on the left-hand panel under the logo, will depend on your Core account's Access Level and the type of metadata that you have managed within Core. For example you will only see Search Timeline Data if there is timeline data associated with the asset. Typical Options include:

  1. Ancillary Documents: if your master asset has ancillary documents (assets) associated with it, then clicking Ancillary Documents will display them all in a standard folder structure. An Edit Ancillary Documents option will also be revealed allowing the user to edit ancillary documents or upload more ancillary documents to the master asset. Clicking on Fulfill Ancillary Documents will allow the user to select associated ancillary documents (assets) and download them (see more on downloads here: Downloading Assets)
  2. Export XML: select the asset's metadata that is managed within Core (e.g. Property Fields and / or Timeline Fields). Preview the output and then via the Preview/Export tab and click Export XML to download the .xml file directly to via your browser
  3. Related Assets: if your account has been configured (and relevant metadata has been entered) to enable this feature, click to view all related assets
  4. Related Searches: if your account has been configured (and relevant metadata has been entered) to enable this feature, click to view all related searches
  5. Search Batch: if your account has been configured (and relevant metadata has been entered) to enable this feature, click to view all related batch search results

Note: if you are interested in Wazee Digital providing the tools to enable you to add the metadata described in points 3, 4 and 5 above, and to configure your Core account to enable these features, then please contact your Wazee Digital representative via the Helpdesk

Options

Search Timeline Data

Search and preview all available timeline data associated with your asset in conjunction with the Simple / Advanced Player (with jump-to timecode functionality). Note: this feature will only display if there is existing timeline data associated with your asset. If you are interested in Wazee Digital providing the tools to enable you to add this metadata then please contact your Wazee Digital representative via the Helpdesk.

  1. Click on Search Timeline Data in the Options panel
  2. In the Search Timeline Data box that opens, click on the Select a Timeline drop-down list to view and select all or individual timelines to view
  3. Alternatively, type in a word in to the Keywords box or enter in Start time / End time timecodes and click Search
  4. A list of timeline data will be displayed. Click on one of the items in the list and the video in the player above will jump to that moment along the timeline
  5. The timeline items are also displayed as selectable dots below the video preview in the player's timeline bar
  6. Clicking Add Moments to Selected Bin will add all of these timeline items to the bin that you currently have selected under My Bins as virtual segments. You can go to that bin to preview them along with all other bin options (see more on bins here: Managing Bins)
